EDUCATION
Mr. Nance received his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 and his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002.

Mr. Nance was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2002.

 

     

Experience
Mr. Nance represents businesses and individuals in a variety of civil matters before the three branches of government. Mr. Nance focuses his practice on oil and gas, environmental, natural resources, regulatory, industrial facility permitting and compliance, enforcement, professional licensing, and business transactional matters. Mr. Nance represents clients before state and federal agencies, including the Texas Railroad Commission, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Lottery Commission, Texas Department of Insurance, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Nance represents physicians in medical quality of care, advertising and other disciplinary cases before the Texas Medical Board. He also represents physicians in insurance overpayment/claims disputes. Mr. Nance represents clients in matters with the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, including matters involving the Texas Public Information Act (formerly Open Records Act) and consumer protection. His oil and gas law experience includes oil and gas transactions, title curative work, permitting, hearings representation and daily legal advice for oilfield companies. In addition to hearings representation, dispute negotiations, and general advocacy, Mr. Nance provides contractual, business entity formation, probate and estate planning services to the firm's clients. Mr. Nance works with the firm's public policy and governmental relations group, providing legislation preparation and analysis. His legal experience includes complex projects such as radioactive materials management and disposal, clean coal technology, online gaming, pharmaceutical compounding, oil and gas waste recycling, underground injection, and World Bank-sponsored international projects.
